How does privacy work? Is the location on the map exact?
Your privacy comes first. On the public map the pet's location is shown blurred by about 150 metres, so no one can trace it back to your exact home. The precise location stays protected and is only used to match lost reports with found ones.
How do I report a lost pet?
Open the app, choose "Lost" and in a few taps add a photo, the location and some details. People nearby get an alert right away and your report appears on the map. You can also generate a PDF flyer with a QR code to print or share.
Which animals does Orma work for?
Orma is built for dogs and cats, but you can report any lost, found or sighted pet. If your pet has a microchip, the app helps match it automatically with found reports.
Is Orma available on iPhone and Android?
Yes, Orma is available on both Android and iPhone. You can download it from your phone's store and use all the features the same way on either device.
What are sightings?
A sighting is when someone spots an animal that might be the lost one and reports it with a photo and location, without necessarily picking it up. Each sighting helps track where the animal is moving and narrows down the search.
How do I contact whoever found my pet?
You can message them directly through the secure in-app chat, without sharing your phone number or email. This keeps you in touch safely while you arrange the reunion.
How do adoptions work?
In the adoptions section you'll find animals from shelters and rescues looking for a family. You can browse their profiles and get in touch with the shelter to learn more or apply to adopt.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored on servers in the European Union (in Stockholm, Sweden) and handled in line with European privacy rules. It is never sold to third parties.
